BOOK 1 - FATE

​PROMPT 1

Write a story about two people who are constantly brought together by fate. This can be for good or bad reasons, with positive or negative consequences for the two of them. Think When Harry Met Sally or One Day by David Nicholls.

PROMPT 2

Write a story where fate is always working against someone. How does it make them feel? How do they react?

PROMPT 3

The Wheel of Fortune is a powerful card in tarot reading, with six main elements (destiny, fortune, success, elevation, luck, felicity). Centre your story around one of these elements of fate, exploring the concept and what it might mean for someone.

PROMPT 4

Write a story inspired by this quote from Stephanie Garber:

"Every person has the power to change their fate if they are brave enough to fight for what they desire more than anything."

PROMPT 5

​Tell us about a character who has always refusd to believe in fate. What has happened in their life to make them so resentful of the concept? And how might fate keep working with/against them?

PROMPT 6

Write a retelling of a classic fairytale, where one small change results in a different fate for the character. This can be either positive or negative for the main character!
